With Apple unveiling the M2 chip for the 13-inch MacBook Pro during WWDC, we’re now expecting Apple to launch M2 Pro and M2 Max chips to succeed the existing M1 Pro and M1 Max processors.

Release date
Most reports suggest new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops won’t become available until 2023.
However, with the 13-inch MacBook Pro laptop launching in July 2022, it’s entirely possible that Apple could also launch the 14-inch and 16-inch models before the end of the year.
Price
There have been no details on the prices just yet, but with the next batch of MacBook Pro laptops potentially only seeing a processor refresh, we expect them to retain the same prices points.
The current cheapest 14-inch MacBook Pro is priced at $1999/£1899 and the most affordable 16-inch MacBook Pro costs $2499/£2399.
Specs
Reports suggest that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will be upgraded with M2 Pro and M2 Max processors.
Those chip haven’t been unveiled by Apple just yet, but since they’ll probably be using the same Apple Silicon architecture as the standard M2 processor it’s safe to assume they’ll provide a significant performance boost compared to the existing M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
It’s hard to envision what other upgrades the next MacBook Pro laptops could see. They already have Mini LED screens, MagSafe charging and a modern design, so Apple may rely solely a processor refresh.
